Couture AW11 – Top Trends

Feathered Hair

Oo la la, it looks like feathers are having a moment!

Plumed silhouettes billowed down the runway at Couture Fashion Week, largely thanks to Jean Paul Gaultier’s Black Swan inspired headdresses and Alexis Mabille’s fanned feather creations.

If you fancy adding an exotic touch to your appearance, check out the colourful range of feather hair pieces available at Accessorize. Either that or grab ASOS’ stunning Pearl & Ivy Black Feather Hair Band, £25 – before it disappears!

POW BROWS!

Thick, statement brows are set to be all the rage this A/W. Stars like Emma Watson and hot new model Bambi are already sporting the look, meaning it’s probably time the rest of us follow suit.

If you’re hankering for a pair of powerful eyebrows (or ‘Pow Brows‘, as Yesterface likes to call them) then prepare to give yourself a darker, more masculine edge with Benefit’s Browzings.

This compact little brow kit, which comes complete with a mini instruction leaflet, is perfect for shaping, tinting and volumizing your brows.

Now, get framing that face of yours!

Starry Eyed

If Paris Fashion Week is anything to go by (and let’s face it, it always is) there’s a whole new way to make your eyes twinkle…

Smatterings of sequins decorated the catwalk during the Christian Dior Couture show, with mermaid-like scales and celestial sparkles framing the models’ eyes.

To make your eyes shimmer, apply Estee Lauder’s Emerald Star or Midnight Star eye shadow to the eyelid, followed by a touch of Barry M Dazzle Dust in Dark Green. Complete the dramatic look by adding a few sequins and /or rhinestones using a spot of eyelash glue!

Preppy Ponytails

It’s catwalk official: ponytails are back!

High, low, wavy or straight, anything goes (apart from scrunchies, obvz.) Yesterface is particularly liking the preppy ponytail at the moment though; think sleek, sweet and simple – and super-high.

This ‘do is both practical and elegant, plus you can work it anywhere; the office, the tennis court or the cocktail bar! Achieve your perfect ponytail with Redken Blown Away 09 Dry Gel and Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist for some finishing gloss.
