Madame ou Mademoiselle?

Guess what? Lidl has a nose for perfume! Yes, you read right – LIDL!

According to more! magazine, in a recent blind smell test conducted by the Perfumer’s Guild, 90% of women preferred Lidl’s own brand perfume Suddenly Madame Glamour EDP to Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle! SACRÉ BLEU!

Looks like Chanel has some fresh new competition on its hands!

Launched in May this year, this modest little perfume is priced at a bargtastic £3.99 per 50ml bottle (which probably explains why it’s reportedly flying off Lidl’s shelves.)

John Bailey, head of Perfumer’s Guild, called it a “timeless, affordable and classic fragrance” and put its popularity down to its “fresh citrus and floral notes merging to an alluring, exotic oriental accord.”

Sounds like the perfect summer scent!

Ps. I do appreciate this news isn’t strictly make-up related, but it does fall under the cosmetics umbrella – and Lidl beating Chanel? Definitely an historical moment! Poor old Coco, eh?

  1. Finally I know what to buy for Laura. She keeps using my man-perfume. When we go out we smell the same; it’s the saddest thing.

  2. excellent post, very informative. I wonder why the opposite specialists of this sector don’t realize this. You must proceed your writing. I’m sure, you’ve a huge readers’ base already!
